Almost every year since 1998, students from Japan have come to India to help build houses for the destitute as part of the Ashram's Amrita Kuteeram project. This year they flew into Mumbai on the night of Amma's programme in Shivaji Park. Sitting on the stage where Amma was giving darshan, they sang bhajans including "Om Namah Shivaya," "Amma Amma Taye" and "He Amba."
